About me

I have always liked being on the side of science and, as such, I feel responsible for using the psychological orientation that has the most scientific evidence: Cognitive-behavioral orientation.

  • EVALUATION phase. Important because the whole therapy will be built from it. It consists of collecting all the information necessary to understand the client’s problem, how it originated and why it is still present.
  • HYPOTHESIS phase. When the psychologist already has all the information about how your problem originated and, above all, how it is currently being maintained, he will go on to expose it in the same way that he explains it to himself. Ask any questions and if you disagree, let them know. From there, he will explain what your therapy will consist of and what specific techniques you will learn.
  • THERAPY phase. The therapist will teach you specific strategies to overcome your problem. You will learn them in the therapeutic sessions and, between sessions, you will practice what you have learned.
  • MONITORING phase. When you successfully apply what you have learned in therapy in your difficult situations and the problem begins to disappear, then you will remember to distance the sessions.
  • Emotional dependency by Paz de Roda, Procrastination: conceptualization and treatment of dysfunctional postponement with Eduardo Keegan
  • Psychological intervention in infidelity taught by Pedro Reyes,
  • Functional Analysis Course at ITEMA, a benchmark center for Behavior Therapy in Madrid,
  • Trauma, Attachment and Dissociation with Anabel Gonzalez.
  • EMDR with Anabel Gonzalez to intervene in a more comprehensive way in trauma, attachment and dissociation.

Methodology

Focus on the present and establish clear and achievable goals, returning to the past to the extent that it is useful to show the origin of current problems; be educational, not limiting itself to offering mere specific solutions but rather facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and techniques that allow the person to reorganize their life in a healthier way; and develop in a limited time by applying it in a structured way, that is, analyzing each emotional state, reviewing the assigned tasks and scheduling new ones, identifying, evaluating and refuting maladaptive ideas and beliefs, involving the client in each step of the process, etc.

This cognitive-behavioral orientation represents the theoretical-practical scientific approach that predominates in current psychology thanks to the multitude of empirical evidence that demonstrates its effectiveness when addressing disorders such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, couple relationships, etc.

Its most outstanding qualities are: to operate from a continuous formulation, in cognitive-behavioral terms, of the case, that is, to attend to the dysfunctional ways of thinking and the emotions derived from them, to the triggering and predisposing factors, underlying cognitive schemes and current maladaptive behavior patterns; promote an active collaboration so that therapist and client work together in the resolution of the concrete problems that are agreed upon.
