2h workshop We will review the main physical, mental and emotional qualities offered by the practice of Yin yoga – Ximo’s Gym.
Yin is a slow paced style of yoga that holds postures (asanas) for longer periods of time than we are used to in more dynamic yoga practices. Depending on each asana and the experience of the yogi, we will work at intervals between 1 minute to 5 minutes.
Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the body’s connective tissues – tendons, fascia, and ligaments – with the goal of increasing circulation to the joints and improving flexibility. Yin yoga offers a more meditative approach to yoga, its goal is to cultivate an awareness of our inner silence.
Maintaining calm positions will make us expose everything that we repress, avoid or resist. Giving us time to inhabit our emotions without the compulsion to act, either defending or denying them. In short, with the practice of yin yoga, we are creating an environment within us so that all our feelings exist and move, without the need to act on them, while we silently observe how they rise and fall while we relax in the asana.
